DESCRIPTION:

Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride Tablets
Trimetazidine is a unique antianginal and anti-ischemic agent belonging to a new class of compounds that display anti-ischemic effects without inducing homodynamic changes and improve the status of the ischemic myocardium.

INDICATIONS:

Trimetazidine is indicated for:
–Ischemic heart disease (angina pectoris, sequelae of infarction)
–Adjuvant symptomatic treatment of vertigo and tinnitus
Hypersensitivity to one of the components.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION :

One tablet twice or thrice daily at mealtimes.

Why it is prescribed (Indications) :

This medication is an anti-ischemic (anti-anginal) metabolic agent, prescribed for angina pectoris and Meniere’s disease. It is also known as fatty acid oxidation inhibitor. It improves heart functions.

Dosage & When it is to be taken :

Adult: PO – The recommended dose is 40-60 mg/day in divided doses.

How it should be taken :
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food.

Warnings and Precautions :

Caution needed for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Side Effects :

Gastrointestinal disturbances, vomiting, nausea.

Other Precautions :

Avoid excess dosage.

Storage Conditions :

Store it at room temperature.
